Collection: Sorrel

Sorrel (Oxalis acetosella) is a collection of 15 vessels inspired by Wood sorrel which grows in small clumps in the woods near where Una lives in Scotland. Wood sorrel symbolises hope, love and faith.

Wood sorrel’s whimsical appearance of thin stems holding up quite large leaves which open and close each morning and night connects Una to her childhood sense of wonder at nature and of searching for signs of fairies.

The glass has been fired in the kiln several times to achieve the final vessels. The vessels were then cold-worked using several processes including flat-lap machine, diamond hand pads and sandpaper to give a crisp, polished finish.
