These gorgeous glass earrings have been handmade by Una in her home glass studio in Scotland. Pink and shimmered green, these earrings are bold in colour with subtle shimmering green. Inspired by red campions, a flower that's commonly found in woodlands, among hedgerows and long grassy banks.
The earrings are mounted on silver plated earring backs with sterling silver earring hooks. Using plated backs doesn't compromise on quality because they don't touch your skin and the sterling silver earring hooks are great quality and comfortable for all-day wear.
Whether you’re buying these earrings as a gift for someone else or to treat yourself, the earrings will arrive ready to shine, in an eco-friendly presentation box, tied up with string and topped with Una’s signature wax seal.
Once you've opened your order be sure to compost or recycle the packaging, even the packing peanuts! They’re made with non-toxic starch and the boxes, jewellery insert and string can be recycled too, just make sure to remove any tape first.
Dimensions (cm)- please note sizing of each product may vary slightly as each piece of glass has been handmade and is unique.

How It’s Made
I use different mediums of glass to make my glass art, often combining sheet glass with glass frit (chips of glass) and glass powders to create more interest and depth and texture in my work. The glass is then heated in the kiln to around 790°C to melt the different colours and mediums of glass together. The kiln has to cool down very slowly to strengthen the glass, so each kiln firing takes around 24 hours from start to finish. I both love and loathe this step, because I’m impatient to see how the glass will look, but the anticipation is exciting!
After the first kiln firing, I examine the glass and cold-work the glass as needed, which involves using a grinder to perfect the shape of the glass, straightening straight lines and perfecting the curves of any fancy shapes. After cold working, it’s back into the kiln for a fire polish which brings out the glossy shine or can create a matte effect on the glass, depending what finish I need.
The jewellery then has its sterling silver or gold filled earring hooks attached and then they’re ready to be carefully wrapped and sent on their way to you!

Inspiration and Nature
I am really lucky to live in beautiful Scotland and get a lot of inspiration for my work from nature when I go walking or travelling around the country. Scotland is a truly wonderful place with a huge variety of scenery- from urban to rural spaces, glorious beaches and coastlines, majestic lochs, hills, mountains and forests. We are lucky to have rich and varied wildlife and plants, with many species of birds migrating to and from here each year.
I’m always getting inspiration of textures and colours from nature, whether it’s from the stripes of variegated leaves or the jewel like colours of landscapes or birds. I love exploring new places here and finding wee places I’ve never been to before. I am always striving to capture the beauty, variety and culture of Scotland in my work and it’s really important to me to help contribute to keeping Scotland a diverse and beautiful place with wild spaces that not only bring such joy to me on a personal level, but that are also vital in the fight against climate change and species extinction that is a result of our human impact on the planet.
That’s why I decided that I would try my best to ensure that as much of my packaging as possible is compostable or recyclable, and why I donate a portion of each sale of glass to conservation projects in Scotland. Find out more about the conservation projects you’ve helped support.
Wipe clean using a damp cloth. Clean using water only and avoid polishes and cleaning products as they may damage the finish of your glass.
